Hope is...

December 28, 2021

Friends, this week for our affirmation of faith in worship, we used your words, reflecting on what hope is as people of faith. As Christians, hope is not false optimism, hope tells the truth about the way things are, and it acts believing that God is alive and at work in the world. Hope is a courageous affirmation of faith in uncertain times.

We believe hope is in finding ways to live with the childlike faith.

We believe hope is Spring flowers!

Hope is life giving.

Hope is necessary.

Hope is the marrow running through the body of the church. As we maintain physical distance for safety, hope binds our hearts closer as a community of faith. When fear raps loudly at the door, let hope quietly answer.

We believe hope is knowing that we are never alone.

Hope is trust in God's plan.

Hope is Christ is risen from the dead.

Hope is getting out of bed each day.

Hope is your dreams.

Hope is the presence of joy in our circumstances despite weakness and uncertainty.

Hope is believing in something you can’t see.

We believe hope is being able to see that there is light even when there  is darkness.

Hope is neighbors helping neighbors.

Hope is knowing you’ll be there for us.

Hope is something we do.

Hope is persevering in your trust that God is with you, even in times of struggle or doubt.

Hope is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hope is New opportunities.

Hope is knowing that you are never alone and that a better day will always come.

Hope is Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church

We believe that hope is knowing we have a God who loves us and is always present. Amen.
