What We Believe

A place where all children belong. We believe that children are not just the future of the church, but they are the church now. PHPC Kids creates an environment where children know they are loved just the way they are and equips them to know, grow and shine the light of God! This is a place for all children to discover their gifts, talents, and the Spirit through God's love.

Connection Hour (10:00-10:45 a.m.)

PHPC offers a warm and nurturing program that is designed to create excitement in learning about our Christian faith for kids ages 3 through 6th grade. The Growing in Grace and Gratitude curriculum provides the opportunity for children see God’s grace in the biblical narrative and in our world today, and it provides age-appropriate opportunities for responses of gratitude through games, crafts, prayers, and more. Children’s Sunday school will meet on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. during Connection Hour. PreK-4th grade will meet in the Chapel for music and then head to their classrooms with their teachers. Preschool and 5th-6th grade classes meet in their classrooms.

Kids Creative Worship

2^nd Sundays during 11am Worship

Preschool - 2nd graders are invited to this monthly class where they will participate increativeand interactive ways to engage inworshipand faith formation. Children will go to Jubilee E & F after the Children's sermon and should be picked up immediately following theworshipservice.

Nursery and Infants

Children are always welcome in worship, but we do have professional child care available for all children infant through 36 months old. Child care is provided on Sundays during worship and during other programs, as needed. Our nursery is professionally staffed with at least two child care attendants that have been background checked and trained in our Child Care Protective Policy. The nursery is open from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m every Sunday.

Children's Music

Children's music leader, Stephanie Rhoades, teaches songs in the chapel during the beginning of Sunday school for PreK through 4th grade.

Route 56

Route 56 is a group for 5th and 6th graders with fellowship opportunities throughout the year.

Spring & Summer Sign Ups

Kidquake at Gilmont

April 4-6

Kidquake is Grace Presbytery's conference for kids. Join fellow 3rd-5th graders from PHPC for a weekend at Camp Gilmont. We will enjoy outdoor activities, small group Bible studies, mission projects, and meet new friends from around the presbytery. Cost is $200. Scholarships available upon request.

VBS

June 2-6 | 9 a.m. - Noon

Vacation Bible School is a fun way for kids to experience Bible stories, through storytelling, crafts, games, and music. This year our theme is Road Trip! from Cokesbury Kids based on the scripture Joshua 1:9 – "The LORD your God is with you wherever you go." VBS is for kids ages 3-5th grade. We hope you will join us!

Jam Camp

June 2-5 | Noon - 4 p.m.

JAM Camp is for kids who have completed K - 4th grades. It begins immediately after VBS (at noon) and ends at 4 p.m. Campers will rotate through a variety of music and arts activities each day.

Summit 46 at MoRanch

June 17-20
5th-6th Grade (25-26 school year)

All rising 5th and 6th graders are invited to join us at Mo Ranch June 17-20 for Summit 46! It will be a great week of fellowship, faith formation, and fun! We will be traveling on a charter bus with other DFW churches to and from MoRanch. Please register now so we can reserve seats on the bus. Cost is $460. Scholarships available upon request.

Child Liturgist Sign Up

3rd-6th graders are invited to sign up to read the liturgy every 2nd Sunday at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. worship.

Acolyte Sign Up

Children in grades 2-5 are invited to serve as acolytes this year. Acolytes light the Christ Candle at the beginning of the 11 a.m. service and then extinguish it at the end, symbolically carrying the light out into the world as we go forth.Children who have already served in this role can sign up for one Sunday per month. New acolytes can sign up for October and will be contacted to arrange for training. Contact Stephanie Rhoades, Director of Worship and Music at srhoades@phpc.org.
