Friends,
Yesterday was another holy and beautiful day at Preston Hollow as we gathered throughout our campus to enter this Lenten season with intention. In addition to our three worship services, we once again provided "ashes to go" and were privileged to provide nearly one hundred people with ashes as they made their way to work or to school at PHPS and beyond.
This Lenten season, we will journey the forgiveness road. The truth is that forgiveness is more art than science. It is often a messy, layered, and complex process. Although, if we dare not take the journey of forgiveness, we will be held captive to hurts, grudges, and pain. They will weigh us down, holding us back from being in right relationship with ourselves, others, and God. And yet, we all need to be forgiven and offer forgiveness. This Lenten journey will lead us deeper into the presence of God as we seek to practice the art of forgiveness. Jesus the Christ will be our constant companion, revealing the freedom of forgiveness and the new way of life that awaits us all. This Sunday we will explore what forgiveness is and what it is not. I look forward to growing in faith with you through this important and timely series.
With great hope,
Matthew
