Ramadan Dinner

PHPC’s annual Ramadan Dinner, in partnership with the Dialogue Institute Dallas, will be held on Monday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m. in Jubilee Hall. The evening will start with an informative presentation on Ramadan. Then, at 7:54 p.m. sharp, we will break our fasts together. Dinner is free and provided by the Dialogue Institute, but RSVPs are required to attend this program. If you have questions, contact Chrissie Ozuna at cozuna@phpc.org.

Ramadan FAQs

What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, prayer, and community for Muslims. It takes place in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

How is Ramadan observed?

Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, abstaining from food and water.

When can they eat?

Those who are fasting break the fast with a meal called iftar, followed by prayer and visiting family and friends.

Does everyone fast?

People who are sick, traveling, pregnant, nursing, or on their menses are exempt from fasting.

Do I need to fast if I plan to go to the dinner?

No, fasting is not required, but if you would like to, please do.
