One: The Lord our God is merciful

All: forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin.

One: Let us worship our merciful and gracious God.

God of hope, our souls wait for you in silence...You are our rock, our salvation, our fortress, and our refuge. We pour out our hearts to you today, trusting in your grace.We confess that we complain instead of asking for your help. We confess that we believe that we deserve your grace. And we confess that we are offended when your grace extends to other people. Forgive our sins—against you, our neighbors, and ourselves. Transform our lives, by your power and love, that your kingdom might come here on earth. In your name we pray, Amen.

All those that are justified, God, in and for his only Son Jesus Christ, adopts by grace. They enjoy the liberties and privileges of the children of God: have God’s name put upon them; receive the Spirit of adoption; have access to the throne of grace with boldness; are enabled to cry, Abba, Father; are pitied, protected, provided for, and chastened by God as by a parent; yet never cast off, but sealed to the day of redemption, and inherit the promises, as heirs of everlasting salvation. Amen.
